How to make it
1

Peel the new onion, cut off the top and root ends, and slice it horizontally in half

2

Heat a frying pan, add a small amount of oil (not included in the ingredients list), and sauté the onions until lightly browned. Sauté for about 5 minutes, basting with a small amount of oil occasionally, until cooked through

3

Transfer the onions to a deep tray, add enough Chinese soup to cover them, and steam in a steamer for 20-30 minutes

4

Prepare the ground meat filling.
Heat a frying pan and add some oil (not included in the ingredients list). Add the ground meat and stir-fry, breaking it up as you go. Once it's lightly cooked, add the green onions and ginger.

5

Once everything is mixed together, add the Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, and Chinese soup stock. Taste and add salt, pepper, and sugar as needed, then add the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce

6

Place the onions from [3] in a bowl and pour the minced meat sauce from [5] over them. Garnish with shiso flowers if desired
